In the lead up to its official launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, Centounonavi has revealed details of its debut model, Vespro.

The new model, which is currently on tour in the Mediterranean, is an innovative fast cruiser that can reach top speeds of 56 knots and can cruise at an impressive 50 knots while still proving fuel efficient.

New Italian ship yard Centouno Navi‘s first model has a length of 16.70 meters and a beam of 4.6 meters, making it the smallest in its range after the Forza at 28 meters and the Eterea at 39 meters.

A New Player

The new yard has been established by two entrepreneurs, the designer Manuela Lucchesi and the naval engineer Marco Arnaboldi, with the duo focused on 30-40-metre yachts built for speed and comfort, without neglecting attention to the environment.

Manuela Lucchesi, manager and designer, is the creator and custodian of the original style of Centouno Navi as well as the financial manager of the company and was fundamental to the creation of this truly unique shipyard on the world nautical scene.

Born into the profession, Marco Arnaboldi inherited from his father Angelo not only the passion for yacht design but also his love for speed. His father Angelo, boasts a past as a designer for the most prestigious shipyards in Viareggio, and also founded AB Yachts, the shipyard where Marco, at the age of 16, gained his skills and first experiences. In 2010, Marco Arnaboldi decided to establish his own firm, working with the most important shipyards in the world to design and create high-performance boats in composite and with water jet propulsion, technologies that make them today an authentic reference for the entire nautical world.

Not Just Speed

Vespro  is equipped with two 1,200 hp MAN 8V engines coupled to MJP 350X water jets and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 56 knots and a cruising speed of 50 knots. At top speed she has a range of 350 NM, and while at that cruising consumption she a fuel consumption of 8 l/nm, an extraordinary figure considering the speed and size of the yacht.

“Our pay-off ‘Fast is Green’ is not just a statement but a real design choice supported by a series of eco-friendly solutions,” says Manuela Lucchesi. “The PVC foams used are recycled, as are other materials that have been used in construction. Thanks to the maximum containment of weight and the particularly efficient hull shapes, consumption is considerably reduced and the water jet propulsion respects the marine fauna often endangered by propellers.”

“Even the design is never a stylistic exercise as an end in itself, but is always a function of efficiency and practicality of use: for example, the dynamic air intakes are integrated into the rollbar, while the vertical anchor windlass system, a solution developed by Centouno Navi in the patent phase, allows you to gain a linear meter in the bow to the full advantage of the owner’s cabin,” says Lucchesi.

A Luxurious Layout

A luxury layout was chosen for the interiors of the first Vespro, with an owner’s cabin with private bathroom and separate shower box in the bow, a large saloon with galley, a second service bathroom and finally a second guest cabin at the aft.

The exterior design revisits a classic open style with originality: the windshield can be retracted into the roof of the deckhouse for totally “en plein air” navigation, a feature common to every Centouno Navi model. Under the hardtop is an L-shaped sofa with dining table, another sofa opposite, a bar cabinet and, of course, the helm station.

The aft cockpit features a walkaround sundeck that can be transformed into a dining area with foldable bulwarks that extend its surface and that of the swimming platform, while the foredeck is easily accessible from the comfortable side decks on both sides and is almost entirely occupied by a large sundeck.

“Vespro combines performance with navigation comfort, speed with low noise and very little vibration,” says Marco Arnaboldi. “Each boat is tailor-made for its owner, a true masterpiece.”
