51m luxury Phinisi yacht offers comfort and spirit of adventure
Since our relaunch, the Asia-Pacific Boating team is reconnecting with many old and new friends. This includes the 51m luxury Phinisi charter yacht Dunia Baru based in Indonesia, which is a multiple winner of Asia Boating Awards as Best Asia-Based Charter Yacht 2017 and Company in 2018.
Now under Asian ownership, in 2020 Dunia Baru will be cruising around Bali, Komodo, Flores and Alor from April to October; Banda Sea and Spice Islands from Sept to Nov; and Raja Ampat, Papua and Sulawesi from Oct to Mar. Bookings made by July 1st will receive a special offer of 7 nights for the price of 5.
Built to the very high standards of the previous American Owner, Dunia Baru is hand-crafted in the traditional Indonesian Phinisi style out of wood by Konjo Boat Builders in Borneo to BKI Classification standards. Since 2014, Dunia Baru and her first-rate crew have sailed as far from home as Singapore, Thailand, and the Mergui Peninsula in Myanmar.
She and her crew have also been involved in disaster relief efforts following typhoons, plus other charitable causes such as taking medical teams to remote villages, and building a learning centre in Sauwandarek village, Raja Ampat.
Dunia Baru, which means “new world” in Indonesian, carries a crew of 18 and can host 14 passengers. Launched in December 2013, this 51m yacht may be traditional in style but she is the product of a modern passion and combined international expertise.
Designed by an American architect and built from Indonesian teak and ironwood by Konjo Boat Builders in Borneo, her interior and marine systems were completed in Bali, sails were made in Thailand, rigging is from the UK, and her marine systems are to ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) standards, ensuring unparalleled levels of service and reliability.
