The most expensive pool table ever built features high-tech sensors that keep the surface stable in choppy waters
Bugatti has found a solution for that age-old problem: getting in a perfect game of pool in while your superyacht is underway.
The French luxury carmaker is preparing to deliver the first model of its high-tech carbon fibre-clad pool table, which is designed especially for use on superyachts. The US$300,000 table features optional gyroscopic sensors to keep the playing surface stable while a yacht is making a choppy passage.
Bugatti said: “Each leg can move to compensate for the movement of a ship and remain perfectly level. The system can adjust in just five milliseconds, and the movement is completed in total silence with vibration-free adjustment.”
It may not be the first pool table ever built with self-stabilising technology, but it’s officially the most expensive pool table in the world.
The company first teased the limited-edition design, which is being built by Spanish carbon fibre specialist company IXO, back in May this year. The first example was completed in September and is now en route to its owner, an America Bugatti enthusiast. Only 30 examples will be built, with five set to be completed this year.

Some media reports also claim that Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emir of Abu Dhabi, has expressed interest in buying one for 180-metre Azzam – the world’s largest yacht.
Every buyer of the exclusive toy will also receive a box of tournament-quality balls and a wall cue support made from carbon fibre, which features a 13-inch high-resolution touch screen for keeping track of scores. The ultra-lightweight pool cues are made from carbon fibre, with anodised aluminium at the ends in a nod to the design of buttons in Bugatti’s supercars. The pool table package also includes a matching ceiling lamp made in – you guessed it – carbon fibre.
Ball pockets are made from stainless steel and lined with leather, with fittings complete with titanium screws and nuts to prevent corrosion.
Pedro Sanchez, general manager at IXO says the company set out to make something remarkable. “When we started developing the Bugatti pool table project, we knew we had to be different and excel in all areas in order to be extraordinary. We pour our hearts into our creations… nothing has been spared.”
