Best known for its electric motorcycles, Brooklyn startup Tarform has unveiled the design concept of its new electric watercraft, the Tarform Raye jetski.
Inspired by the sculptural lines of the manta ray, the eye-catching all-electric jetski concept from Tarform takes all the company has learned about electric road bikes and has translated it for the sea, with biomorphic design, plant-based materials in its construction, and the flexibility of modular technology.
In fact, the jetski has been designed to offer the sensation of riding the Tarform Luna, the brand’s electric bike, on water, complete with the same high levels of performance and handling, ensuring the jetski will be on the must-buy list for many yacht owners.
The Tarform Raye will share the same technology from the Tarform Luna, including over-the-air updates, machine learning, and sensor technology for a seamless and connected experience.
With plans for two versions with a power output of 70-120hp and a range of 1-2 hours, the target top speed of the Tarform Raye will be around 80km/ph, with instant torque and acceleration via an electric waterjet propulsion system.
The bodywork, which includes handlebars and a hood sheltering an integrated infotainment system, will be available in recycled carbon fibre or Tarform´s proprietary plant-based (biodegradable flax-seed weave would you believe) reinforced composite, ensuring less impact on the planet, and the company will also offer extensive customisation options.
