A fleet of the world’s superyachts looked on from the Jeddah Yacht Club Marina in Saudi Arabia, as the F1 Grand Prix descended on Jeddah Corniche Circuit last weekend.
Among the impressive vessels in attendance were the 113-metre Lürssen yacht Alaiya, the 108-metre Benetti-built IJE, the 95-metre Devonport Yachts Vava 2, and 69-metre Austal superyacht Saluzi.
Oliver Rees, general manager of the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, said: “We are thrilled to welcome such an incredible line-up of luxury yachts to the Jeddah Yacht Club Marina. They were able to enjoy a fantastic show on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, so added to the Jeddah
Yacht Club & Marina experience we’ve been able to provide, our guests have been thrilled with their visit.

“Speaking to captains, we’ve been told that berthing at the Jeddah Yacht Club’s Marina has never been easier, which is the best news we could hope to hear. Our team has worked around the clock to make this marina the centre of the yachting world this weekend, and their dedication has clearly paid off.”
Rees adds: “The way this weekend has come together really speaks to the city’s incredible infrastructure. With Jeddah Yacht Club Marina’s top-notch facilities, it’s clear that Jeddah is now more than ready to host major global events like this.”
Saudi Arabia is emerging as a superyachting hotspot, with authorities keen to promote the destination to affluent travellers. Amaala, the ‘ultra-luxury’ development located along Saudi Arabia’s north-western coast, has recently revealed renderings for the design of the upcoming Triple Bay Yacht Club, due to open in 2024.
The race was every bit as entertaining as expected, as outside the top two, things were close all the way down the standings, and there was some last-minute controversy for the final podium place.
Red Bull’s Sergio Pérez took the ultimate victory during a close-run race, followed by his teammate Max Verstappen, to give Red Bull their second one-two of the season.
