The Numarine 70 Hardtop is light and responsive, with a fully customised interior...

LAUNCHED AT THE Istanbul International Boat Show in September, the Numarine 70 Hardtop is about to hit the NOW button. She is everything the younger boater wants – fast, sexy, good value and infinitely sensible. The 70 Hardtop is the latest addition to the Turkish builder’s range of family cruising boats with a sporting edge.  It bears the signature lines and aesthetics that have proven popular with the company’s highly successful 78 Hardtop.

Sporty Yet Sensible

There is something reptilian about her profile as we walk towards her. The aggressive somewhat predatory lines seem to dominate the marina where she lies stern-to on the dock. We are in Gocek, the boating mecca in the Gulf of Fethiye on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, to test this boat. The sun and the wind are slight and the seas are smooth; this is going to be a good test. Sitting among her larger factory sisters, somehow she just seems to stand out. The shapes on her hardtop, the ridges at the top and the end, are reminiscent of dorsal fins. The portholes contribute to the Jurassic effect that makes her look somewhat uncompromisingly mean, yet, at the same time desirably pretty.
