One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in Singapore has been awarded the Platinum Gold Anchor accreditation by the Marina Industries Association (MIA).
This platinum accreditation is the highest accolade in MIA’s Gold Anchor programme, which is designed to provide boat owners and marina users with a reference system, similar to hotel star ratings. MIA says its top designation is reserved for marinas that offer “unique marina experiences with personalised services and an array of top-notch facilities and amenities.”
The award was given recently at a gala dinner held at the end of the Marinas22 conference on Australia’s Gold Coast.
To achieve the platinum status, a marina has to score 95 per cent after an extensive assessment of over against 86 separate criteria that include an anonymous customer survey. In the assessment, MIA applauded One°15 Marina for its “policies, planning and procedures, customer service and care for the environment.”
Comment: Widening the scope of Asia’s marinas
Suzanne Davies, CEO of MIA says: “One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove has been a 5 Gold Anchor Marina for many years, but the recent marina upgrades and the integrated services offered through the hotel and hospitality areas make it a worthy Platinum recipient and we are very proud to make the award”.
The 270-berth marina has recently undergone a $7 million reconfiguration. Changes made included a new marina layout with revamped infrastructure, relocation of the marina office, new signage and safety ladders at the marina, and upgrades to the hotel rooms.
“One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove Singapore is honoured to be the first Platinum Gold Anchor marina in Southeast Asia,” adds Jonathan Sit, the marina’s general manager. “With a focus on service, community and environment, we are constantly striving to improve and attain excellence in these areas. We hope to replicate the same standard across all One°15 Marina properties globally.”
