The 26th edition of CIBS will now take place March 27-29, 2023

Organisers of the 2022 China Shanghai International Boat Show (CIBS) have confirmed the event is being cancelled for this year.

The decision is related to the ongoing pandemic control measures in place in the city, as China pursues a strict zero-Covid policy.

The event, one of the country’s longest-running boat shows, was originally set to take place from March 31-April 1 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre (SWEECC). It was later postponed to June 22-24, with the venue changed to the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai.

The 26th edition of CIBS will now take place March 27-29, 2023, and is reverting back to the SWEECC.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this postponement may cause,” Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets say in a statement. “We are paying close attention to the development of restrictions on gatherings in Shanghai, and we remain in close communication with the exhibition centre and relevant government departments. We are working hard behind the scenes to create the safe and high-quality experience our exhibitors, visitors and partners have come to expect from us.

”We wish to thank each and every participant who has supported us, and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Organisers confirm they are now preparing for the Greater Bay Area International Boat Show 2022, which is set to take place in Shenzhen from December 14-16.
