Sanlorenzo recently exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong 2023, one of the most prestigious art fairs in the world, as an exclusive yacht partner.
The Italian yacht builder is heavily involved in the art scene and its exhibition, which took place from 21 to 25 March, showcased Sanlorenzo’s latest art project, entitled Landscape with Lighthouses, a work curated by Flash Art and executed by Chinese artist Li Qing. The participation included an event attended by art collectors, yacht enthusiasts, and industry professionals from around the world.
Welcoming nearly 180 international art galleries and 18 partners, the 2023 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong was a vibrant international mix with visitor numbers equalling those seen pre-pandemic. Sanlorenzo’s presence at Art Basel Hong Kong 2023 was a testament to the brand’s commitment to the world of art, design, creative thinking, innovation, and craftsmanship.
For Sanlorenzo, Li Qing created a completely original work that reflects the relationship between humanity and nature. The connection between Sanlorenzo and Li Qing shone a new light on the seascape and the world of navigation, through the study and the different perspectives of the lighthouse form on its spectacular window frame structure.

The exchange of ideas and inspirations was well received by attending guests
Sanlorenzo hosted an elegant “Meet the Artist” aperitivo cocktail event with Li Qing, and a curator from his representative, Almine Rech Gallery in Shanghai, who discussed Li Qing’s works and inspirations and their representation of modern art in a fast-developing and modern China. Guests enjoyed the art exchange and meeting Li Qing in person at the Sanlorenzo Lounge, which was located in the Collectors Area on Level 3 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Sanlorenzo has made a long-term commitment to the world of art, with continued efforts to engage with the art and design community and to showcase the fruits of this engagement. The exhibition provided a welcomed opportunity for visitors to experience the quality and craftsmanship that Sanlorenzo is known for and to explore the possibilities of luxury yacht living.

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in Art Basel Hong Kong 2023 and showcase Sanlorenzo’s art project, a part of the bigger Sanlorenzo Arts collection, to a global audience,” says Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager. “Our yachts represent the pinnacle of luxury, design, and innovation, and we are proud to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the yachting industry by bridging the connection with the world of freedom and creativity that art inspires.”
Sanlorenzo looks forward to continued engagement with the art and design community, with another creative project being announced for Design Week, to be held 17 to 26 April in Milan. This latest project will see a unique installation of La Macchina Impossibile, powered by a new hydrogen system that Sanlorenzo is developing, in collaboration with Siemens Energy, and which moves the large gear inside an imposing metal sculpture designed by Piero Lissoni.
