The first phase of the Riverdale Marina includes a 100-metre pontoon that can accommodate eight boats up to 10 metres in length

A new marina has officially opened in Bangkok, following a soft opening in February.

The Riverdale Marina is part of the Riverdale district, a new development and ‘lifestyle complex’ located on 2.4 sq km of land in Pathumthani province, on the Chao Phraya River in northern Bangkok.

In addition to a marina, the Riverdale development has a housing development, two golf courses, a hotel, a health club, and a shopping mall. There are plans for rented office spaces and a hospital.

Marina manager Ben Mccrory confirmed to Asia-Pacific Boating that the first phase of Riverdale Marina includes a 100-metre pontoon that can accommodate eight boats up to 10 metres in length; a hardstand, which can accommodate 100 boats; a clubhouse with a member’s lounge; toilet/shower facilities; the Riverdale Marina Service Centre; an on-site contractor that can do deep and minor boat repairs.

Membership at the new marina is now available.

Mccrory adds that the second phase of the Riverdale Marina, set for completion in 2023, will have a fuel dock, dry stack and a 100-metre pontoon, meaning the wet berth will be able to accommodate up to 30 boats. The second phase will also include a Marina Plaza, with marine-related businesses as well as travel and tour companies aimed at Bangkok Chao Phraya River’s boating community.

The marina has recently been awarded Safety Health Administration (SHA) certification by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, as part of a Thai initiative to showcase businesses that are taking measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
