The Riva is the first launch for Ferretti Group since Covid-19
Riva Yachts, the legendary brand name of the Ferretti Group, has splashed the latest yacht in its lineup, the 88′ Folgore, from its yard in La Spezia, Italy. It is the first yacht launch by the Ferretti Group since the onset of the Covid-19 lockdowns.
“The launch of the first new model in 2020 represents a new Renaissance for the Ferretti Group, which restarts from Riva brand becoming more and more a contemporary myth, the essence of made in Italy and a tangible sign of a country that starts again,” said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi.
Folgore, which means “lightning” in Italian, features exterior design inspired by the automotive world, using carbon fibre mixed with mahogany inlays and steel finishes to create a classic yet sporty look.
The Riva 88′ Folgore was designed by Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli along with Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
The stern features a garage door that swings open and can be positioned parallel to the waterline to create a 6-square metre beach club, or it can be immersed to allow the launch of the tender. The 22-square meter cockpit features a huge sofa area with table and bar unit with electrically-opened marble top.
A glass hardtop located on the superstructure opens up and can be tilted toward both the stern and bow, to let in fresh air when underway or at anchor.
The interiors have also been extensively renewed using clever mixes of wood, steel, marble and glass. Owners can choose between three layouts in the master cabin. The sleeping area is completed by a VIP cabin at the bow and two double cabins, each with its own bathroom.
The area reserved to the galley remains separate, with a dedicated entrance to guarantee maximum service privacy.
