ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island and ferry terminal have officially opened on the Indonesian island of Nirup, just 8NM off the coast of Singapore's Sentosa Island.
Managed by SUTL Enterprise, and developed by PT Tritunas Sinar Benua, a prominent Indonesian real estate developer, ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island offers 44 berths catering to yachts of up to 150 feet in the first phase of the marina completion.
The new marina encompasses a clubhouse restaurant and bar featuring an international menu and a full beverage menu. Guests will also be treated to a spectacular view of superyachts bobbling on azure waters while dining at the clubhouse as well as water sports such as kayaking or taking leisurely strolls on the island’s pristine sandy beaches.
ONE°15 Marina & Ferry Terminal Nirup Island serves as a valuable addition to the ONE°15 Marina brand and is poised to become the next yachting destination for Singapore’s boating community and beyond.
“As the marina sets sail into full operation, we anticipate a consistent influx of boaters, charterers, and private yachts seeking exceptional amenities and new experiences,” says Arthur Tay, Chairman and CEO of SUTL Enterprise.
The marina on Nirup Island presents a distinctive advantage through its onsite CIQ facility. Private boats travelling to Nirup Island will be able to clear customs at Nirup Island itself instead of detouring to Batam, saving at least one hour of travel time. The total travel duration from Singapore to Nirup Island is approximately 20 minutes by a fast boat, thereby unlocking fresh possibilities for boaters to embark on immersive journeys and discover the enchanting allure of Nirup Island.
ONE°15 Marina will also organise regular boat convoys to the new marina so that guests can experience the untouched island.
In the long term, ONE°15 aims to create a thriving community, boosting the economy of the surrounding villages through sustainable tourism and ecological progress. SUTL Enterprise and TSB, along with the support of the Indonesian government, aspire to provide the residents of the surrounding islands with valuable educational opportunities, enlightening them on safeguarding their coastlines against the perils of climate change. Such initiatives could include recycling endeavours and beach clean-up programmes with the guests of the island and the surrounding communities.
Furthermore, SUTL is exploring ways to amplify its sustainability efforts on Nirup Island by developing the site into a thriving marine conservation area and diverse ecological habitat. This will be done by collaborating with local universities and esteemed Indonesian institutions at different phases.
“The inauguration of the ferry terminal and marina on Nirup Island marks the beginning of grand aspirations for advancing tourism in the Riau Islands,” says Jimmi Ho, Commissioner at TSB. “Nirup Island is expected not only to act as a magnet for tourists but also to become an attractive destination for investors wishing to invest in the Riau Islands.”
Guests and tourists will be able to travel to ONE°15 Marina & Ferry Terminal Nirup Island via direct ferry service once the island officially opens in the fourth quarter of 2024. With the unveiling of ONE°15 Marina & Ferry Terminal Nirup Island and the ferry terminal, a new era of maritime leisure and adventure awaits delighting locals, tourists, and yachting enthusiasts with an unparalleled luxury experience near Singapore.
