The new 40MXP from Numarine extends the aft deck exterior area while boasting a 6000-mile range and extensive onboard luxury
Numarine continues to develop its range of explorer yachts in the 20 to 45-metre range with its latest design, the 40MXP, or Mediterranean Explorer.
The new 39-metre explorer yacht continues Numarine’s focus on high-volume, low maintenance yachts designed for long distance cruising. The company reports having already sold two of the new 40MXPs, with delivery expected in 2025. The 40MXP is based on the 37XP and boasts a 6000-mile range at eight knots.
The MXP stands for Mediterranean Explorer, but Numarine is quick to point out that its new 39-metre can explore anywhere – the Mediterranean refers to the Mediterranean lifestyle. The aft deck has been enlarged in part by moving the aft sliding doors to the saloon forward by three metres, compared to the 37XP.
The result is large aft deck area with space for alfresco dining, a bar, and a lounge area surrounding an aft pool with glass transom. This social area extends down to a hydraulic swim platform that stretches across the yacht’s eight-metre beam. This area can be shaded with an awning or with upper deck extensions.
“It’s very on-trend at the moment to maximise exterior elements on sub-45 metre yachts,” said Ömer Malaz, Chairman of Numarine. “What the 40MXP does so well is add fantastic outdoor living features to the design while retaining the core explorer principles of our XP line. I am very happy since both owners who signed contracts to build the 40MXP are repeat clients, which means we are doing everything the right way.”
Standard propulsion comes from a pair of MAN 800hp engines, although there is the option to upgrade to a Tier III-compliant twin MAN 900hp installation –the first two yachts sold will both have the 900hp MAN upgrades.
The interior has six suites for up to 12 guests, including a full-beam main deck master and a full-beam lower deck VIP. The 40MXP has transoceanic range and a large boat deck for a tender up to nine metres, plus three jet skis and room for additional toys.
