Updated model has optional air conditioning built into the structure, and makes it easier to enjoy cruising in warmer or wetter climates
Ferretti Group’s Riva has revealed an updated version of its 56’ Rivale Hard Top, which comes with a carbon fibre hard top that covers the centre section of the yacht. The new feature, which has steel handrails on both sides, makes it easier to enjoy outings while remaining sheltered from heat and rain.
The hard top options include built-in air conditioning and awnings, which can be added to cover the forward lounge and cockpit, creating a single covered area that runs the entire length of the boat.
The Rivale 56’ Hard Top follows the recent launch of the updated Dolceriva Hard Top, which features a new hard top and a new exterior design. Both yachts are part of the brand’s Open range, which spans well-known models including Riva Iseo, Acquariva Super and Rivamare. The new 68-foot Diable, which was teased in May, is the latest addition to the Open range.
The design of the 56’ Rivale Hard Top is result of collaboration between the Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari, the creative flair of designer Mauro Micheli, the founder of Officina Italiana Design with Sergio Beretta, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
Classic Riva features abound: polished mahogany for the interiors and teak for the exteriors, lacquered surfaces, mirror-finish stainless steel and fine leather.
The stern, which has a garage for a Williams 325 tender protected by a carbon fibre hatch, can lower the swim platform to partially submerge the steps on the port side and reveal others set in the hull, providing a stairway to enter the water and return on board, without needing to use the steel ladder.
The aft section of the cockpit is fitted with a generous sun pad. The deck lounge is furnished with forward-facing seating, an L-shaped sofa and a teak table on the port side. On request, the third guest cabin can be replaced with a crew cabin.
The 56’ Rivale Hard Top is fitted with a pair of MAN engines rated 1200 mhp, powering the yacht to a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots.
The owner can also opt for the standard pair of 1000 mhp MAN engines, providing a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 31 knots.
The first unit of the 56’ Rivale Hard Top, which is finished in ‘Riva Shark Grey’ with black detailing, is already sailing in American waters.
