Revenues are up 78% on the first half of 2020, CEO reveals during Cannes press conference, while profit at six-month mark has already eclipsed last year’s total
Italy’s Ferretti Group has closed the first half of 2021 with impressive financial results.
Revenue is up 78% on the first half of 2020, revealed CEO Alberto Galassi during the group’s annual press conference at the Cannes Yachting Festival, which concluded Sunday and saw a joint-record attendance of 54,400 visitors.
Between January and June 2021, Ferretti Group’s revenues stand at €457 million, which already represents about 75% of total turnover in 2020. Overall pre-tax and interest (EBITDA) income stands at €53 million — an increase of more than four times the same figure for the same six-month period in 2020.
Profit climbs to €23m (€2.6m in the first half of 2020), beating the 2020 year-end figure of €22m. In June 2021, the order intake stood at €493m against €181m in June 2020, driving an increase in the order book to €817m.
Ferretti Yachts 1000, the yard’s new flagship
The group showcased a fleet of 23 yachts at the annual festival, including five world premieres across the Riva, Pershing, Ferretti Yachts and Wally brands: Riva 68′ Diable, Riva 76′ Perseo Super, Pershing 6X, Wally WHY200 and the debut of the Ferretti Yachts 1000 –the yard’s largest-ever model.
The group also revealed plans for the launch of six new projects across the Riva, Wally, Custom Line, Ferretti Yachts and Pershing brands, including a new fleet of Wally sailing models up to 150 foot.
Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi
“In sport this is the year of Italy and in sailing the champion is Ferretti Group, which is impressing everyone with amazing boats and record numbers,” said Galassi. “There really is no better time to return to Cannes with in-person attendance and a super fleet of 23 yachts and five world premieres that tell the story better than any words of our determination to create beauty and performance.
“The resounding figures for the first six months describe strong growth that rewards an industrial strategy geared to constant innovation. Suffice it to say that in the three-year period 2019-2021 alone, we presented 23 new series and semi-custom models, and will launch just as many in the next three years, renewing the range of all our brands. We’re in for a resounding end of the year!”
