New Zealand Boat Show confirms dates

The event, which features exhibitors from leisure marine and fishing industries, will be able to run from 12-15 May at Auckland Showgrounds once Covid restrictions are eased
The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show is tentatively set to go ahead in May as planned, following a recent government announcement regarding New Zealand’s Covid-19 framework.
Organisers say the event, which features exhibitors from leisure marine and fishing industries, can run from 12-15 May at Auckland Showgrounds under the country’s revised ‘orange’ Covid traffic light system.
New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed she is keen to remove the country’s final Covid restrictions as soon as possible. While the whole of New Zealand is still on red, following a review on April 4, organisers say they expect the government will soon announce the country is moving from red to orange, either upon the next review on April 14, or within the next couple of weeks.
Under the orange status, there will no longer be any limits on the number of people able to attend an indoor or outdoor event.
‘This news is a positive boost for the 2022 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show,’ the organiser says in a statement.
In February, the Auckland Boat Show — the country’s only on-water show, set to take place in March this year — was cancelled for the third year in a row due to Covid.
