Continuing its work on luxury yacht design, Italy’s Francesco Struglia Design Studio has revealed details of its new 61-metre superyacht concept, Necklace.
The name is a little hint as to the inspiration for the new concept; taking its design cues from luxury jewellery, Necklace boasts contemporary lines across her 61-metre length and 10.4-metre beam, while her superstructure has been designed to be made up of separate elements, allowing for greater customisation by owners.
“The goal is always to seek out new forms of design and assembly, which simplify construction, costs, and the future disposal of the building, for design ethics aimed at sustainability,” says Struglia.
At the heart of the new 1,000GT yacht is its expansive living spaces, which include a main deck with a 320sqm semi-open lounge and fold-out terraces that leads to an expansive wellness space and gym, and finally the beach club; and, on the upper deck, the Serra Lounge, an additional space boasting a double-height greenhouse that acts, according to the designer, as the ‘green lung of the yacht’. Necklace’s four decks provide ample outdoor living space while the wheelhouse is perched on its own level atop the vessel.
The yacht’s living spaces are complemented by a pair of swimming pools, one on the bow and the other, an infinity pool, connecting two levels aft; and the option of either seven guest cabins or five with the addition of a spa and private cinema. The sprawling owner’s suite features its own terrace and panoramic views. There is also accommodation for 10 crew.
This is the latest yacht concept for Stuglia’s agency, which has previously won awards for its creations, which include the 37-metre Benetti Motopanfilo Koju, a bold 50m trimaran concept in 2022; the 50-metre Onda; and the recently announced concept 61 Asymmetric.
