Lana – a name that means light – is illuminating new dimensions in the world of the superyacht charter

If a 7-star hotel could float then Lana – the largest charter yacht delivered this year, and the first superyacht over 100 metres ever launched by Benetti – ticks all the boxes.

Designed in-house by the Italian yacht builder, it is one of the largest vessels ever produced in Italy but still has a racy vibe: at 3,800 GT she holds all the latest amenities that charter guests could demand and, after Flying Fox, is the second 100m+ superyacht on Imperial’s books.

This winter of 2020/2021 she has headed to the Asia-Pacific, where Imperial confirmed she is cruising the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.

Lana is, at 107m, one of the largest Benetti ever delivered by the Italian shipyard,” says Imperial Yachts’ director Julia Stewart. “Her exceptional lines and impressive layout, enhanced by an impressive 2.7m height ceiling throughout the guest areas, make her the superyacht not to be missed in the region this winter 2020/2021.”

She was even enough to catch the eye of megastar couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who celebrated Beyoncé’s birthday on board the US$2 million-a-week charter in September, according to media reports.

Lana is built with a full-beam 120-sqm beach club with hammam, massage room, gym; two impressive salons, including an onboard cinema with a state-of-the-art sound system; a wide sun deck with al-fresco dining for 16 guests, an impressive 8-metre pool with its own heating system and eight cabins (one master suite and seven VIP cabins) for 12 guests,” adds Stewart.

“Lana has everything any demanding and experienced charter guests could expect, and represents an excellent opportunity for those who are looking for a new luxury journey experience.”

Lana offers a range of social areas, from vast lounges to cosy salons, arranged to help guests enjoy every moment at sea. Her bold and elegant lines are distinctly balanced with her interior, which is of a soft colour palette to create a sense of serenity throughout the decks.

Lana’s interior layout comprises eight en-suite staterooms, including a master suite and seven staterooms. She is also capable of carrying up to 31 crew on board, among them beauty therapists, masseuses and wellness instructors.

The swim platform leads directly into the beach club via two sliding doors; a relaxing 120-sqm space that uses the full 12m beam in this part of the ship to deliver all the comforts of a seaside resort. On this level, there’s an onboard gym, a waterside lounge with views through the fold-down balconies on either side and the spa that comes with a hammam, dry massage room and massage bed.

Out on the sundeck there’s a raised 8-metre heated swimming pool that can fill within 45 minutes that is surrounded by teak decking and wrap-around sun pads for relaxing poolside afternoons. Glass doors, meanwhile, act as windbreaks to provide a breeze-free 100-sqm space where up to 16 guests can meet for dinner or hang out in the outdoor lounge with a view over the stern of the yacht.

The area quickly turns into a party zone thanks to a custom CAT Audio System that combines eight speakers, two subwoofers and professional-grade amplifiers, that could rival any beach club in Ibiza. For those that want a quiet evening taking in the view, the top deck is equipped with a central bio-ethanol firepit (one of several on deck) that creates a feeling of intimacy.

Alternatively, guest can retreat indoors to the soundproof 70-sqm cinema on the bridge deck and enjoy a Hollywood blockbuster on one of Lana’s two 88-inch 4K QLED TV. Paired with a sophisticated Sonus Faber Olympica sound system, it provides a truly immersive experience.

The superyacht is equipped with a fleet of tenders and toys that include two custom wooden boat tenders (14-metre limo and 9-metre sports tender), Yamaha stand-up jetskis, Seabobs and paddleboards. For adventurous guests, there will be a dedicated onboard divemaster who will be taking guests to explore the abundant marine life of the Indian Ocean this upcoming winter season.

Lana runs on two diesel-electric engines that have a power output of 2,800 kW each, pushing the yacht to a top speed of 18.5 knots. With a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots, she is able to cover over 5,500 nautical miles without refuelling.
