Not even a typhoon could dampen the Fountaine Pajot MY6 Open Day, hosted by Asia Yachting, which took place at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club last weekend

The Fountaine Pajot MY6 Open Day, hosted by Asia Yachting, took place at Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Causeway Bay from July 3-5.

The invite-only event marked another step towards the return of in-person events, after a long pause due to the pandemic.

In the end, not even the first T8 typhoon signal of the year could stand in the way of enthusiastic guests who were eager to have a look at the city’s first showcase of this French-made power catamaran.

“We are happy that the typhoon did not ruin the mood of powercat lovers. It’s been quite a while since our last boat show because of the pandemic, so it’s great to see the smiles of our guests again,” said Olivier Besson, CEO and founder of Asia Yachting.

Formerly known as MY44, Athe Fountaine Pajot MY6 is one of the most popular models in the region thanks to its luxurious features and fittings.

The Open Day was the first time this powercat has been open for a boat show in Hong Kong since its debut in France in 2017.

“Designed by Pierangelo Andreani, the interior had an upgrade with new millesime,” Asia Yachting said in a media release shortly after the event. “The lounge saloon, comprehensive galley and the driving station were all generous and luminescent in design. One floor down, the impressively sized owner’s suite on the port side, two VIP bedrooms on the starboard side and an optional cabin at the front are more than abundant for a big family trip.

“The event guests were especially excited about the volume of the cockpit and the 360-degree view of the flybridge, as they provide capacious spaces for social events.”

In line with the surging demand for in powercats in the region, the next Fountaine Pajot MY6 will be arriving in summer 2023. The brand’s flagship motor catamaran, Power 67, will also come to Asia for the first time next summer.
