M/Y 156-II will make its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show (Sep 25-28)
After the sale of the first hull of Bilgin 156 in March, Bilgin Yachts of Turkey is proud to announce the launch of the second hull of this highly appreciated model in its range. The shipyard is currently buzzing with activities in its facility in the West Istanbul Marina.
Bilgin M/Y 156-II, named Lilium, was launched on May 15 with a private ceremony and became the last Bilgin yacht to be launched in the shipyard’s former facility in Kucukcekmece of Istanbul. Lilium will now undergo sea trials before heading to the South of France to make her public debut at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show.

İsmail Şengün, CEO of Bilgin Yachts summarises the latest model of the shipyard: “The Bilgin 156-II is named after the beautiful white flower Lilium as a sign of our promise to the yacht owners: A sunny and happy day on a deck.”
“It is always exciting to see the end result of our designs. After the success of Nerissa, we can’t wait to see how Lilium will affect the ones who see her. She is a proud example of today’s globally recognised Turkish craftsmanship,” says Emrecan Özgün, Founder and CEO of Istanbul-based design office Unique Yacht Design. The interior designer of Bilgin Yachts, İlkay Dovan says that she wanted to create a peaceful brightness in living areas: “We tried to imagine even the tiniest details through the look of a kaleidoscope. It was a challenging process to create luminosity while deciding on the proportions of each material.”
Lilium has slight differences than her sistership Nerissa, which made her debut in 2017 Monaco Yacht Show. Besides having light colors in the living areas, Lilium‘s main difference from her sistership Nerissa is certainly her galley. The layout changed in order to make it easy for the crew to move around without coming across the guests. There is a pantry located between the galley and the living room. A significant feature of the galley is its island. This way, the crew will work more productively, particularly when there are guests on the yacht.

In the interior, the color palette comprises mostly white and golden touches. Brass materials help create a warm atmosphere. The lighting also enhances the relaxing atmosphere in the interior. The staircase reflects the daylight from the Jacuzzi above, a result of the inspiration the Bilgin Design Team drew from nature. One owner’s cabin as well as four guest cabins have special design features in the headboards and lighting, while the marble in the bathroom of each cabin breaks the monotony and adds a luxurious feeling to the area.
Like her sistership Nerissa, Lilium is also powered by twin 1,448 bhp MTU 12V2000 M72 diesel engines and is expected to have a top speed of 16 knots and a maximum range in excess of 5,000 nautical miles at the cruising speed of 12 knots. The 48-metre yacht will be cruising in the French Riviera from the end of July 2019 and spend the summer there.
