The 16.78-metre flybridge, designed by Alberto Mancini, is billed as a family boat suitable for spending long periods on board
The Azimut 53 will make its official debut early in 2021. The new 16.78-metre flybridge has been designed by Alberto Mancini, with interiors by the Azimut Style Office.
The new model is billed as a family boat, which has designed for spending long periods on board. The yacht’s day area is laid out on almost the same level, with the galley near the entrance and the living area separated by a difference in height of just 25 centimetres. Side windows that run uninterrupted from just beyond the entrance area to the windscreen offer panoramic views and bring a sense of space and airiness to the yacht.
Priority has been given to optimising the storage spaces onboard. The master suite offers a walk-in wardrobe, in addition to a second storage column and half-height units along the hull side, plus additional space under the bed for bulkier objects.
The lobby has been carefully designed to create space for a washer-dryer machine plus storage space without reducing the surface area of the third twin-bed cabin, while the partially verticalised bow makes the VIP cabin particularly roomy, with much more storage space and distance between the bed and the bulkhead than the market average.
When designing the exterior area, the focus was again on convenience. With only one stairway to the swim platform, the L-shaped sofa in the cockpit is longer, deeper and therefore more comfortable, while the exterior storage cabin (or crew cabin) can be accessed directly from the transom. The setting can also be fitted with a bar unit with ice maker and bottle chillers.
The foredeck and flybridge sunpad cushions have a shape, thickness and size that are an anthem to laziness and very hard to resist. And in the rear section of the flybridge, the classic dinette becomes more versatile, proposing an up-down table that turns it into a second lounge area with a privileged vantage point over the water.
Two Volvo Penta IPS 950s deliver a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots, significantly reducing consumption and noise and making mooring operations as simple as possible.
