The Texas brand of wake and surf boats offers sophisticated touchscreen control
Hong Kong-based Asiamarine has been appointed dealer for Tige Boats in Hong Kong, effective January 1, 2021. Tige Boats is based in Texas, founded in 1991 by Charlie Pigeon, a veteran boat builder. Tige specialises in surf, wake and ski boats worldwide.
The company has developed automated systems that factor in conditions while in operation to create a consistent wake, letting wake surfers enjoy longer periods with more predictable wave.
“Tige will offer the most adaptable and versatile wave catering beginners right up to pro’s by their GO system and TAPS 3T. Tige’s “Go” touchscreen can be pre-set to individual riders using ballast, surf plates and speed to dial in the perfect wave every time. We cannot wait to introduce this to the wake surfing community,” said Hamish Pope, Tige Brand Manager of Asiamarine.
Wakesurfing has grown in popularity in Hong Kong, with several schools and coaches springing up to teach the new watersport. Wakesurfing is an alternative to both surfing and wakeboarding, in which a person rides a boat’s wake on specialised surfboards.
Tige boats have developed a reputation for styling, versatility, space onboard and ease of handling. There are the ZX and RZX class boats, ranging from 20 to 25 feet. The company reported a 48% retail sales increase in 2020 over 2019.
Asiamarine is bringing two flagship Tige models, the 23 RZX and 23 ZX to Hong Kong in April 2021. The company currently has the dealership for Galeon Boats, Wellcraft, and Ferretti. In the spring of 2020, Asiamarine was appointed dealer for Bali Catamarans. The company also offers brokerage and charter services.
