Driftwood begins charters in Fiji as the country is now completely opened up to tourism
Charter and brokerage house Y.CO has announced that the 55m Amels superyacht Driftwood is moving to the South Pacific to offer charters in Fiji and the Solomon Islands.
Driftwood spent two seasons in Central America and has become a yacht of choice for those wishing to have a more adventurous charter experience.

With an abundance of surf gear, dive equipment and other water toys, as well as a 19m chase Boat, Driftwood is suited to on-water action and fun, be it exploring shorelines or underwater.
Fiji is a well-known destination for diving, particularly around the northern islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni.

The Solomon Islands are less-known and frequented than the Fijian Islands, but they offer incredible diving and natural experiences, plus untouched surf beaches – sometimes referred to as “surfing’s last frontier.” The islands have also enjoyed some marine conservation successes, adding to the allure for visiting superyachts.

Y.CO said that the Driftwood’s arrival in the Pacific “coincides with a growing interest in the Pacific region as an exciting yacht charter destination.” The company says it has three other superyachts in the area for charter: Arctic, Farfalla, and Thandeka.
As of February 14, 2023, international travellers arriving in Fiji by air or sea are no longer required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and travel insurance to enter Fiji. Tourism Fiji reports that arrival numbers to the South Pacific archipelago have returned to pre-Covid levels, with February 2023 seeing visitor arrivals reaching 97% of February 2019 figures.
“The South Pacific is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after yachting destinations, and we’re
excited to bring Driftwood to this stunning location,” says Fleur Tomlinson of Y.CO Auckland. “Driftwood really put Central America on the map as an up-and-coming yacht charter destination, and we believe she is bound to do the same for Fiji and the Solomon Islands.”
