Dutch shipyard reports 30 percent increase in new motor yacht sales last year and a solid order book for 2019
Zeelander Yachts, a leading Dutch shipyard that creates high-end performance motor yachts with elegant New York commuter-style profiles, confirms strong sales numbers in 2018 and a bright outlook for 2019.
Zeelander was established in the Netherlands in 2002 and has been busy completing orders ever since as the company keeps expanding. Two years ago, the company opened a new state-of-the-art yard in Groot-Ammers. The year 2018 was especially successful for Zeelander in terms of sales and production.

“It’s been an exciting year for the shipyard and we are going to keep up the pace in future,” said Leonardo van den Berg, Commercial Director at Zeelander Yachts. “It’s a pleasure to confirm that we have again increased our sales by 30 percent by the end of 2018 compared to 2017. The geography of our clients is also growing. Mostly, they come from the United States, but we have orders from the Netherlands and Russia, among other countries. And as I mentioned, we continue to have a s strong sales performance in the USA.”
In 2018, Zeelander Yachts hit several milestones. It started construction on the Z72, its largest yacht to date. Last year, the company built the Z755, the fastest Zeelander ever. It was revealed at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2018 with 2000 hp engines. The yard was also very active on the social front, supporting charities, hosting private events in Europe, taking part in important boat shows and even serving as official tender for the Amber Lounge at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.

Zeelander Yachts specialises in production of high-end motor yachts that blends form and function with performance efficiency set to the highest possible standard. The current range includes three models, Z44, Z55 and the flagship Z72. The Z44 is an instantly recognisable lobster-style cruiser with a modern twist and powerful motor capable of reaching 35 knots, panoramic views and spacious interiors with either one or two cabins. The Z55 is the ideal step-up from the 44-feet model, offering an even roomier cockpit and three cabins. The Z72, with the first unit under construction and to be delivered in spring 2019, is the largest Zeelander model to date at 22 metres. It offers superyacht-level comfort with the smart use of space and a maximum speed of 40 knots using a powerful triple Volvo IPS propulsion totalling 3000 hp.
Last year, the company also announced a luxury twist on the popular Z55 model – a cabriolet version of the Z55 Corniche. The concept has been developed and full details will be released in February. The first hull of the Z55 Corniche is currently under construction and will be launched at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival.
